CURRENT WORK
Coordinator of the PERNIS project, which studies the raptor and other gliding birds postnuptial migration across Catalonia. My main function is to coordinate the task of the approximately 50 collaborators of this project, thus how to guarantee the temporary and functional continuity of the workstations. Also keeping the institutional relationships necessary for assuring the good operation of this project, as well as picking up and working analytically the data bases that it generates and obtaining objective and scientifically solid information about the phenology and migratory routes of the raptors. All this information, as a last resort, is used for achieving an optimum management of the Catalan natural environment. Also I am the technical person responsible for the data bank of the Ringing Catalan Office and of the web pages of the Catalan Institute of Ornithology.
INTERESTS
My interests focus on the field of the migration of big gliding birds and raptors, precisely in knowing the distribution of the migratory routes and the variables that influence it. On the other hand, the knowledge of the new technologies of Internet also interests me in their allowing to optimize the flow of the information between the data banks and the users.
