RCO Awards

Application Requirements

In order to promote the publication of scientific work, particularly its members and collaborators, in the Revista Catalana d'Ornitologia (RCO, Catalan Journal of Ornithology), the Catalan Ornithological Institute awards the best article published every year.

  1. There is a 600 € prize for a research paper that stands out because of its significance, originality or innovation.

  2. The prize has been granted from the publication of the volume 21 and will be awarded until the directive board decides to discontinue it.

  3. The jury is constituted by one member of the editorial committee and two external assistants, chosen by the Main council of ICO.

  4. The jury will announce its decision within the 2 months following the publication of the next volume and, will contact the authors of the winning paper in this period.

  5. The jury's decision is irrevocable, and the candidates, by accepting the bases of this awards, renounce to bring lawsuit the jury's decision.

  6. Along with the resolution, the authors of the winner paper will receive a form of acceptance or rejection of the prize, to be filled out and returned to the ICO's directive board within 30 days. Failure of returning the form within this period will be considered as renounce of the award by the authors.

  7. The award will be effective within 60 days from reception of the acceptance form.

  8. Staff of the ICO, and members of the directive board or the editorial committee are not eligible for this award.

  9. The jury may declare void the prize if it considers that none of the articles published meets the merits to be awarded.
